EFAP (Employee & Family Assistance Program) | 60+ Plan

The benefit provides confidential counselling and support for members and their families.

Free, confidential counselling with support for multiple issues yearly.


Coverage and Cost


  • Who is Covered: You, your spouse, and dependent children under 30.

  • Cost: No cost to you.

  • Purpose: Supports personal, family, or work-related issues with confidential services.


Access and Session Limits


  • Initial Sessions: Up to 10 sessions per case.

  • Additional Sessions: Available based on clinical need, as determined by EFAP counsellors and clinical supervisors.

  • Multiple Access: You can access services again for different issues within the same year.

Health Coaching


  • Nutritional counselling

  • Smoking cessation support



Additional Support Services


Assessments and Referrals


EFAP provides assessments and referrals to community services for serious or chronic emotional, relationship, behavioural, or psychiatric issues.


Extended Counselling


If additional counselling is needed after the EFAP sessions, you can continue seeing your EFAP counsellor on a fee-for-service basis.


External Counselling


Services accessed independently outside of EFAP are not reimbursed by EFAP, but may be covered under your plan’s extended healthcare benefits.
